CIBAFI Online Technical Workshop Leads Valuable Discussions on Islamic Wealth Management and Financial Planning Frameworks

14th – 15th November 2022, Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain | The General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI), the global umbrella of Islamic financial institutions successfully launched this afternoon an online technical workshop on “Wealth Management and Financial Planning for Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs)”. The workshop will run for two days.

 

The second iteration of this online technical session was conducted by CIBAFI to cater to its Arabic-speaking members and stakeholders. The workshop aims to shed the light on the concept of wealth management from a Shariah perspective, equipping participants with extensive knowledge on the wealth management cycle, Shariah financial planning, and Islamic wealth management frameworks.

 

The workshop was inaugurated by welcoming remarks from Ms. Zainab Al Owainaty, Director, Administration and Finance at CIBAFI.  In her speech, Ms. Al Owainaty highlighted the necessary support provided by CIBAFI to its members and stakeholders through the facilitation of training programmes on various topics relevant to the challenges confronting Islamic financial services industry professionals today.

 

The workshop was attended by senior representatives of Islamic banks and financial institutions as well as Regulatory and Supervisory Authorities (RSAs). Using a variety of case studies and practical exercises, participants will gain key insights into the concept of wealth management and financial planning in the Shariah context.

 

The 2-day workshop is facilitated by Prof. Dr. Ahcene Lahsasna, Chief Executive Officer of Salihin Shariah Advisory Sdn Bhd and Accredited Trainer of CIBAFI. Industry experts and leaders, including Mr. Arif Khalifa, Research Economist and Banking Lecturer, Kingdom of Bahrain and Dr. Mohamed Albltagi, Chairman of the Board, Egyptian Islamic Finance Association (EIFA), Egypt also shared their practical knowledge as guest speakers.

 

The Technical Workshop is aligned with the CIBAFI strategic objective on Professional Development, which endeavors to enhance capacity building within the Islamic financial services industry (IFSI). These programmes are practical and targeted to the staff of Islamic banks and financial institutions, regulators, and practitioners. In addition, they aim to engage participants in the discussion on the current environment of the Islamic banking industry.
