As the voice of the Islamic finance industry and its advocate, CIBAFI is pleased to present to you its inaugural Global Islamic Bankers’ Survey Report. This report measures ‘the pulse’ of the Islamic Financial Industry and reports on its health, on its feelings, on its concerns, and its aspirations for the future. In April 2015, we sent a detailed questionnaire to our member banks and others asking them how optimistic they were about the future; to identify the greatest risks they are facing; how they are approaching some specific aspects of Islamic financing activities; and how they are addressing – and overcoming – the challenges that they face.
Our Inaugural GIBS 2015 presents the views of 83 Heads of Islamic banks from 35 different countries.
The survey is grouped into four main parts:
- The first is Islamic Banking Confidence Index;
- The second section is Islamic Banking Risk Dashboard;
- The third section focuses on Key Drivers of Growth Monitor; and
- The final section presents Practitioners’ Perspectives Towards Key Obstacles in Equity Finance, Profit Sharing Investment Account, and SME Finance.
