    DFM and National Bonds partner to promote Islamic finance


    The partnership intends to facilitate the trading of the National Bonds the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).

    The DFM has signed an MoU with the National Bonds Corporation (NBC) to create the framework for series of Islamic financial services the two sides plan to implement in the coming period.


    The collaboration also enables NBC accessibility to DFM’s services such as trading depository custody as well as dividend distribution.


    The DFM and NBC will create an electronic linkage for efficient trading of NBC’s Shari’ah compliant savings bonds through DFM’s licensed firms.


    HE Essa Kazim, the Chairman of DFM, said, “The main objective is to diversify DFM’s product offering as well as creating an effective platform for National Bond’s clients.”


    Additionally, the DFM will also manage the dividend distribution process to bond holders.


    The move will allow DFM investors flexible tool to utilize any excess liquidity in purchasing national bonds, achieving returns from this investment, while promptly liquidating their investment to take advantage of other listed securities.
